Law and Legislative Affairs Department is a separate unit within the Secretariat of the Government of Chhattisgarh. Department is headed by Hon’ble Law Minister. Main work of this Department is drafting/vetting of bills and ordinances, publication of Acts and Ordinances in the Official Gazette. The procedure of legislation is regulated by relevant provisions of the Constitution, Rules of Business of the Government of Chhattisgarh and the Law Department Manual.
